The Scoop on VT: September 2025

Welcome to season 10! On August 23rd, Vanilla Tyme began a new season in the Minecraft world. We've got a fresh new map, a new spawn theme, and a reimagined market area!

This season, Vanilla Tyme is embracing a mystical fantasy nature theme! Our new spawn sits within a dark oak forest, centered around a massive ancient tree stump, powered by a glowing crystal.

New players will arrive in one of the fae-inspired huts branching from the stump’s edge. Players can explore the spiraling staircase that winds from top to bottom. Inside, you’ll find:

🛠️ Work block area
🎁 Donation area (coming soon!)

Outside you'll find crops for community use.

🎬Behind the scenes of spawn creation

Mediocre Toast and Elektra started brainstorming ideas for this season way back in May! Staff try to choose biomes for spawn that we've never done before, haven't done in a long time, or that will lend well to the theme idea in mind.

The pair discussed dark oak forest or tiaga as possible biomes, and ultimately landed on dark oak forest, with the idea of an ancient tree stump in mind.

Elektra started experimenting with design ideas in creative, with the help of the World Edit and Axiom mods, and the tree stump started to take shape! Her main inspirations when building were the Fern Gully movie and Grounded game.

After a few weeks of early game nether shops, we officially opened the Season Ten market on September 13th.

This season introduces a new system:

• No more temporary stalls → players can go straight to a permanent shop.
• Marty the Market Master now sells permits for either a pre-built stall or a full-sized plot.

Before setting up shop, make sure to check out the #market_rules in Discord for the updated guidelines.

To go along with the spawn theme, the permanent stalls were designed to look like mushroom huts. Ten of the sixteen huts are built into a fallen log (likely fallen from the main tree stump) and the other six are free standing. Any player that doesn't want to build their own shop can utilize one of these stalls.

Weekend mini games are returning this season, hosted by MediocreToast on a bi-weekly basis. We've got spleef, king of the ladder, musical carts, archery, boat race and more!

We held our Season Ten End Opening and community Dragon Fight on September 6th.
Nearly 50 players joined for the fight; it was over before all the crytsals could even be taken out!

The killing shot to the Ender Dragon belongs to thevoidgod122009, who will soon be recieving their very own collectible!

We spawned a second dragon for a bit more excitement and then everyone went on their way to explore the end!

New this season: There are no restrictions on flight direction with Elytra in The End! Fly here, fly there, fly everywhere...just watch out for the void! Don't say we didn't warn you.

Public Enderman Farm

We collected materials from the community and built up the public Enderman farm in record time this map! Thanks to everyone that donated and to Elektra, Trinity_8, and UntillitKills for building the farm.

You can find the farm by taking the nether portal at 215 West nether tunnel.

Our nether tunnel competition is ongoing and all entries are due by next Wednesday, September 24, 2025 11:59 PM EDT

If you'd like to see your idea implemented as our main tunnel design, submit it soon!

The winner will be chosen by a community vote the last few days of the month and the winner will recieve a collectible in their name.

🎃October is shaping up to be spooktacular with the return of the annual player-built trick-or-treat area and haunted house (with some new twists!). Keep an eye on Discord announcements so you don’t miss the fun.

We've already seen lots of amazing player base builds popping up all over the server! We would love to feature some of you in future newsletters. If you're interested in showing off your base, create a ticket to let us know!

Season 10 is already off to an incredible start, and that’s all thanks to you — the community. From donating materials for spawn, to jumping into the first dragon fight, to sharing laughs at mini games, and helping another player when in need, each of you helps make Vanilla Tyme the welcoming and creative space it is.
